Doppler Effect, written by physicist and journalist Qasem Waleed is a striking and meticulous descriptive analysis of his life in Gaza and the genocide committed by Israel, told through the lens of quantum mechanics. its DNA structure was put into sound by musician and composer Silvia Cignoli and radio artist Alan Alpenfelt and produced by Litmus. Qasem’s question at the core of Doppler Effect’s dilemma is not whether we are alone in the universe. That question can wait. More importantly now, it’s whether we are alone on earth.
Are you afraid yet? is a collaboration between poet and essayist Claudia Rankine and artist and music producer Vika Kirchenbauer. The work brings together Rankine’s whispered reading of her poem of the same title with a sound collage by Kirchenbauer, drawing on material from her music project COOL FOR YOU.
